TERMS & CONDITIONS:

By joining, all members agree to follow our TERMS & CONDITIONS.

1. Membership & Payments

• Membership fees are billed monthly in advance via debit card or SEPA direct debit;

• €15 non-refundable joining fee applies;

• Membership is personal and non-transferable;

• Missed classes are non-refundable;

• Uniforms are non-returnable and non-refundable;

• Seminars, privates, and events are charged separately.

2. Late Payments

• Membership payments overdue for more then 5+ days: €5 late fee and suspended access;

• Membership payments overdue for more then 28+ days: membership cancelled, €15 rejoin fee may applies;

3. Membership Freezing

• Membership may be frozen for a fixed period of 1 month. After this period, the membership will be automatically reactivated and the membership fee may apply. If the member decides to cancel the membership, they will have up to 14 days to request a refund, provided that the fee was charged and no classes were attended during this period.

• Freezes for periods of less than or more than 1 month do not apply;

• The need to freeze for more than one month will result in automatic cancellation of the membership;

• Membership freezing can only be requested in the event of illness or injury;

• 14 days notice is required;

• Membership payments must be up to date to request a freezing;

• Please note that any request to change membership details or status must be submitted online through the student’s member account in order to ensure a proper record for the security of both parties (the member and the academy management). The student, or the parent/guardian if the student is underage, must log in to the member account to request any changes.

• Promotional packs cannot be frozen;

4. Membership Cancelation

• Membership cancellations need to be requested before the new billing cycle begins;

• 14 days notice is required;

• Promotional packages can be canceled within 14 days from the date of payment;

• Cancellation of promotional packages will incur a fine of 35% of the amount paid;

• Uniforms purchased in promotional packages are non-returnable and non-refundable;

5. Updates to Terms and Conditions:

• Checkmat Jiu-Jitsu Waterford reserves the right to change or update these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice;

• Continued use of our facilities and services constitutes acceptance of the most recent version.

ACADEMY RULES & ETIQUETTE

By joining, all members agree to follow our ACADEMY RULES & ETIQUETTE.

The following rules apply to all staff, members, visitors, and spectators.

1. Be respectful to everyone staff, instructors, members, visitors and guests;

2. Any form of discrimination will not be tolerated under any circumstances;

3. No foul language or inappropriate speech;

4. During class, maintain good posture and pay attention to instructions;

5. Maintain personal hygiene, trim nails, and ensure your uniform is clean;

6. No shoes on the mat and training area. Leave shoes in the designated area;

7. Wear flip-flops off the mat, especially in the toilet;

8. Do not attend class if you are sick, have a skin infection or contagious illness;

9. Remove all jewellery before training;

10. Arrive punctually for class. If you arrive late, wait for the instructor’s permission before entering the mat;

11. Parents and spectators are not allowed in the training area during the kids class;

12. Absolutely do not coaching your children or other students during class;

13. Do not leave the mat during class without the instructor’s permission;

14. Students are responsible for their belongings. The academy is not liable for lost or misplaced items;

15. Everyone inside the academy must be appropriately dressed at all times. Use the changing rooms if you need to change clothes;

16. Shoes, food, drinks, and electronic devices are strictly prohibited on the mat;

17. No chewing gum is allowed during training.

18. Everyone in the academy including staff, members, visitors and spectators must keep the gym clean and organized at all times;

19. No photography or video recording is allowed in the training area without prior permission;

20. Training is at your own risk; sparring is optional and must be done safely and respectfully;

21. Leave your ego at the door, be humble and train safety;

22. Respect the tap — safety comes first;

23. Believe and achieve.

HYGIENE, SAFETY AND UNIFORM POLICIES

By joining, all members agree to follow our HYGIENE, SAFETY AND UNIFORM POLICIES

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu involves close physical contact; therefore, hygiene is essential for the health and safety of all students and instructors. Students who fail to comply with this policy will not be permitted to attend class.

1. Personal hygiene is mandatory — uniforms must be clean, nails trimmed and both, hands and feet must be washed before training;

2. Only clean white BJJ Gi or Approved No-Gi uniforms are allowed. Dirty, stained, or smelly uniforms will not be tolerated;

3. Rashguards are mandatory under the Gi and in all No-Gi classes;

4. No-Gi uniform is mandatory in the No Gi classes (without zippers, pockets or sharp accessories);

5. White BJJ Gi is mandatory in BJJ Gi classes (patches from other schools, academies, teams or affiliations are not allowed);

6. Students must wear sandals or off the mat, especially when using the toilet;

7. Shoes are not permitted on the mat or training area;

8. Everyone is expected to help keep the academy clean and organized at all times;

9. If you are ill or have a contagious skin condition, please inform us and do not attend class until you are fully recovered, to ensure the safety of others;
